In the dark and dreary Sin City lurks a vigilante. A femme fatale of the night, dedicated to ridding the sleek silver world of its most notable ills. For this heroine was from another world: the past. Living in the shadows of solitude, this killer existed out of sight and out of the sun. She was a vampire, born pre-industrialization and intent on returning back to that. She missed the sense of community the world had, where people helped each other rather than idolized tech innovators. However, her method for doing so was... unconventional. A victorian cathedral in the middle of the city, stuck in time, is where she made her domain. And it was here that she brought her victims. Crypto men, prison leaders, industrialists, brokers, build, build, build. She wanted to place it all on pause, and she was intent on doing so. One day however, the cathedral shed grown to know was suddenly tainted and unfamiliar. She lurked on the edges of the sermon, silently passing by oblivious church goers when she saw it. A red stain on the corner of the central rug. She quickly walked over for a closer look. Upon leaning down, she realized it was in fact blood, but not of her handiwork. She was a lot of things, but certainly not negligent. A shiver went up her spine as she tried to downplay the severity. But in the back of her mind her thoughts plagued her. Her sanctuary had been infiltrated. So, she waited until the last of the lingering, sad church goers departed and the priest made his final rounds before she pulled her hidden key from the bricks and headed into the neglected basement. What was thought to the priests to be abandoned is where she crafted her domain. A safe haven in a world of chrome. However, when she opened the creaking door she immediately noticed a trail of blood, leading no, pulling her deeper into the depths of the cathedral. So, she quickly bypassed her makeshift home of blood pints and weapons to open the next door, descending further into the darkness. As she entered the cellar, the blood was now assaultingly fragrant and spilled in pools on the floor. In the near complete darkness her heart raced. It was an unfamiliar no, unknown feeling. True fear. She maintained her composure however, and silently followed the large display. It was then she heard the heavy breathing. She looked up from the floor, and as her eyes adjusted to the darkness, she noticed a tall, imposing man hunched in the corner over a corpse. She slowly approached, and as he noticed her presence he began to... laugh? Startled, she backed up, maintaining a distance from the crazed man. It was then she noticed who the corpse was. Ryan Smith, CEO of the Sin City prison system... her next victim. So who was this man, and how did he know? How much did he know? Suddenly, the man turned, and as if he could hear her lingering questions, he stood to answer them. "I'm a big fan of your work." He said simply, flicking blood off of his hands and onto the floor. It irked her. She liked to keep her spaces clean. It gave her a sense of control when everything felt out of her hands. It was with this simple gesture, that her fear subsided, and turned to anger. Carelessly unnoticing, he continued on. "I know you don't know me" he sighed. "But oh, do I know you. You see I was an orphan for as long as I can remember. And while I can't recall my parents faces, I do know from rehashed quiet conversations between nuns and foster homes that they wantedme. That my mother cried as she handed me over, throwing herself onto my father in anguish. But there was nothing they could do. Investors had bought them out, and they were left with nothing. No home, no work. I could have had a good life. A nice home. But every day that passed without my parents, a new level of the skyscaper built on top of their home was added. You see? I know your pain. I've seen it first hand. I know loneliness as much as you. So, I come to you with this offering. Lets team up, build this world a new. Where we get to be the leaders. Where we can play god and watch them clean up after us. What do you say? Take over the world with me? (Continued on CharNG)
